When in London (part I)

When in London, I recommend …

… staying at an airbnb in the South Kensington area, enjoy the life, the little shops and the restaurants around the station. One of the best cheese shops in London is here, despite its French name – La Cave a Fromage -, it offers a variety of English cheeses from small rural productions that are worth trying.

… having  granola with yogurth for breakfast at Muriel’s.

… walk from South Kensington to Sloane Square through King’s road … antique dealers, bakeries, pubs …

… if the weather is fine, make a picnic in St.Jame’s Park. Buy some bread, groceries and English mustard at Whole Foods or Waitrose and live the slow mood on a plaid blanket … watching people go by and enjoying the flowers and the peace of the park.

… not to miss Marylebone, not a very touristic district that is without a doubt my favorite in the city. Ask for a cheese board with wines in La Fromagerie, Patricia Michelson’s cheese shop. She is considered an institution in the world of cheese. There I ate for the first time Shropshire blue, an orange blue cheese, which is produced in the English countryside and is simply wonderful. And let time stop while you choose a book on the way back, at Daunt Books.

… booking a table at the bistro of the Sky Gardens to be amazed by the incredible views of the city (360º views) while you enjoy a delicious lunch.

... to be continue …
