As a child, I was hooked to Con las manos en la masa, the famous spanish cooking tv show… for sure that’s when everything started. The fact is that I was attracted to the dishes she made. They seemed easy and somewhat different from what was eaten at home… and we ate very well at home! After all it was the Basque Country in the eighties, meaning very traditional and local. The gastronomic range was then quite limited, we’ll before globalization and back in a time when the New Basque Cuisine was still growing.
Then I got married and it turned out that dining with my husband, who was raised at home to exquisite taste of his own, was like standing with a Michelin’s guide inspector. So, my interest in the kitchen grew up over the years, trying to put something in the dish appetizing and healthy everyday. I do not follow any specific diet, but I think that when cooking, it’s worth doing it with fresh and quality products and especially try and moderate the use of sugar.
Over the years, and with two daughters completing the family I found in the kitchen a wonderful hobby with which to relax after work, as I am a IT Engineer. My family loved all the dishes I cooked for them, as they were simple but delicious and mouthwatering. No matter how distracted, worried or tired my husband and daughters came to the table, the dish always caught their attention and they ate it gratefully. This made me want to take the leap and share it on the internet and social networks, but for that, I had to learn to take good photographs! Good idea, because nowadays, photography is a great passion for me.
Once a friend told me that reading one of my stories and seeing my pictures was like being with me for a while. I love thinking that’s the way it is. My photographs and my stories are a bit of my life, they are real, authentic, beautiful, imperfect … they are mine, they carry my own style. And I evolve day by day in this field. And I enjoy the journey.
